Sneak peek of Slayter Creek Splash Pad

Here are a few other water spots in Collin County to consider.

The city of Anna is offering a sneak peek of its newly renovated Slayter Creek Park Splash Pad on June 24-25 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. After a brief closure the park will officially open July 1.

Frances La Rue, communications manager, said the park, located at 425 W. Rosamond Parkway, was demolished and rebuilt from the ground up, resulting in a state-of-the-art recreational area.

Through the years, the splash pad had undergone several modifications and updates to improve water conservation, chemical safety and overall efficiency.

“However, with the equipment becoming increasingly outdated and repairs becoming more challenging due to parts’ availability, the City Council approved a comprehensive renovation plan,” La Rue said.

One of the park’s $2.5 million in enhancements is an 11,500-gallon water tank, which has 10 times the capacity of its predecessor. The wet surface area also increased by more than 2,000 square feet, allowing for more water features and interactive play zones.

Other enhancements include sidewalks for pedestrian connectivity to the existing pavilion, a new fitness court and sun shades throughout the splash pad.
