Senior Cpl. Allison Brockford was terminated during a disciplinary hearing.

Dallas Police Chief Eddie García on Tuesday fired an officer arrested on a drunken driving charge.

Senior Cpl. Allison Brockford was terminated during a disciplinary hearing for driving under the influence while off duty and engaging in adverse conduct during the arrest, police said. Her attorney could not immediately be reached for comment.

Brockford is the second Dallas police officer fired this week. She did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The chief on Monday fired Officer Javier Granados, who was arrested last year on a misdemeanor family violence assault charge. García also handed down a 5-day suspension Monday to Officer Caleb McCollum, who was investigated for making and trying to sell a challenge coin decried by the Black Police Association as racist.

García declined to comment Wednesday through a spokeswoman about Brockford’s firing. She and the other officers can appeal his decisions.

Brockford was arrested Feb. 18 about 6 p.m. after she crashed in the 1800 block of North Central Expressway Service Road in Dallas, according to an arrest-warrant affidavit. Brockford told an officer she had no recollection of the accident and said she was going home from Double Wide, a bar in Deep Ellum, police wrote in the affidavit.

As she spoke with the officer, she continued to try to drive the vehicle, which wasn’t moving, the affidavit says. She then stumbled as she exited, according to the affidavit. An investigator noticed she had “red glassy blood shot eyes” and smelled alcohol on her breath, the affidavit says.

She told police she had two beers at the bar, but couldn’t remember when she had her last drink, the affidavit says. An officer found four unopened alcohol containers inside an eight-pack box in her vehicle, according to the affidavit. The officer performed routine sobriety tests on her and then arrested her.

The criminal charge is pending, according to court records.

Brockford had been on the force since September 2012 and was assigned to the community affairs division.
