Strengthening our community through giving back

You give because you care, and it warms our hearts

One of my favorite aspects of being the publisher of The Dallas Morning News is that I represent a company with a long history of giving back to our community. We reach over nine million people every month via our print and digital assets, and our company strives to use this platform to make our community a better place to live.

We are especially proud to partner with Communities Foundation of Texas to help shine a spotlight on North Texas Giving Day. This is a day where North Texans show that, together,

we have built the largest, most significant day of giving in the country. You give because you care, and it warms our hearts that you do so.

In an effort to give citizens a chance to give back every day of the year, The Dallas Morning News launched a campaign called FWD>DFW in 2018. FWD>DFW highlights companies in our region who set the gold standard for strengthening our community through giving back. In year two of this campaign, we will continue to partner with these world-class companies with an emphasis on volunteering. Some of you may not have the means to give back financially, but almost all of you can give your most precious resource: your time.

Catch up on the day's news you need to know.

To date, we have seen over 2,500 people sign up at fwddfw.com to volunteer at area nonprofits. We offer hundreds of volunteer opportunities every week for you and your family to give back and feel energized doing so!

So whether you plan to give money on Sept. 19 or to volunteer your time, I want to thank you for making our community stronger as a result of your gifts.
