AJ Lawson, Jordan Walker lead Mavericks in rout of Pacers in Summer League

Lawson and Walker combined for 45 points in Dallas’ second to last game in Vegas.

A day removed from shutting down their leading scorer in the 2023 NBA Summer League, the remaining members of the Dallas Mavericks’ Las Vegas squad blew out the Indiana Pacers 112-91.

Led by AJ Lawson and Jordan Walker’s combined 45 points, the Mavericks ensured they would end this year’s Vegas schedule with a winning record, improving to 3-2 with one game remaining in summer league play.

The win, however, wasn’t quite big enough to keep Dallas’ playoff hopes alive. To make the playoffs, the Mavericks needed to win by more than 27 points.

Still, the Mavericks put Friday’s contest away early, taking a 48-33 lead at the half. Perhaps the most exciting play of the night was also the most embarrassing.

This isn’t the first time this has happened to the Mavericks either. You may remember a critical and controversial loss to the Golden State Warriors last season.

The Mavericks will face the Atlanta Hawks Sun., July 16 at 8:30 p.m. CT in the final game on their summer schedule.
