Taylor was one of the key cogs in Forth Worth this season that saw the Horned Frogs come up just short of a College World Series finals appearance.

He finished the season very well with the Horned Frogs after stumbling out of the gate, well enough to have been in the mock draft mix as a potential top 10 pick. Taylor was projected to go as high as No. 6 overall.

From his MLB.com scouting report: “Using a sweet left-handed swing and fine bat-to-ball skills, Taylor makes repeated contact to all fields. He’s not afraid to work deep counts and controls the strike zone well. He’s younger and more projectable than most college hitters, so he could continue to get better.”

The TCU star hit .308/.430/.631 with 23 home runs and 70 RBI in 67 games this spring, and he had a .941 OPS in 43 plate appearances in the Cape Cod League last summer.
