Summer movie deals: Where kids can stay cool and watch movies on the cheap

During the hot summer, young moviegoers can take a break from the heat and enjoy a different film each week as part of kid-friendly summer movie series at North Texas theaters. Titles are a mix of classic and nearly new G- and PG-rated favorites. Admission prices are minimal, and some theaters throw in special deals on kid-size concessions. Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse

Cinemark’s Clubhouse series features recently released movies on Wednesday mornings through Aug. 9. Tickets are $1.50 for each week’s film, and there is a $1 off discount on kid snack packs or any popcorn and drink combo at the concession stand. Find Cinemark locations at

Studio Movie Grill Children's Summer Series

Alamo Drafthouse Kids Camp

Kids and adults can catch a $5 movie at Alamo’s Kids Camp. Kids Camp selections screen Monday through Friday at various times at Alamo Drafthouse locations in the Lake Highlands and Cedars neighborhoods in Dallas and in Richardson and Denton. See the schedule at your desired location here.

Regal Summer Movie Express

Admission is $2 per movie for Regal’s summer series. Two movies are featured each week, with screenings on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at Regal UA Galaxy Theatre, 11801 McCree Road, Dallas.

Kids Dream Family Film Series

The summer film series runs through Aug. 5 at Movie Tavern locations in Bedford, Denton and Fort Worth. Family flicks screen at various times and titles change each week. Admission is $3, and kid-size popcorn and fountain drinks are $3 each. Find locations here.

B&B Theatres Summer Kids Series

Family-friendly movies screen Tuesdays through Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at theaters in Wylie and North Richland Hills. There are also sensory-friendly showings on select dates. The Summer Kids Series runs through July 27. Tickets are $5.

LOOK Dine-in Cinemas’ Kids Summer Series
